The End of Google Pagerank

It have been widely discussed on all over the SEO forum that there will be no more pagerank. It’s a big hit for directory owner like me where people used to judge the directory by pagerank before they decide to submit their website.

To make the story even stronger, Adam Lasnk a Search Evangelist for Google have also joined the discussion at forum Webmaster World.

Criticisms and feedback noted!

And the idea of removing PR from the toolbar… this raises some interesting questions.

PageRank is an important signal and remains one of many effective measures of quality, but admittedly it’s often viewed and used/abused in ways that run contrary to the interests of searchers and webmasters. Still, a lot of folks find the PR information useful; it provides a great incentive to try out our toolbar and explore its other features as well.

Given that many of you aren’t so fond of PR info in the toolbar, I’d love to know what feature you would like to see.

Mandatory criteria:

  • Would have to provide actionable info for webmasters
  • Would need to be useful and interesting for the ~99.9% of users who aren’t webmasters

Tedster, thanks much for starting this thread. I look forward to reading everyones’ ideas!

You guys can follow the discussion at forum Webmaster World. For those of you who do not know what is pagerank you this article from Wikipedia.

How to Get a Cheap PR6 and PR7 Backlink

Alang, a full-time webmaster from Malaysia have posted an article on how to get a cheap PR6 and PR7 backlink at his blog. As a directory owner, pagerank is very important if you wanna get a submission. Usually the the high PR website will cost you a lot of money but Alang have the solution for us. He came up with two different method on how to get a cheap PR.

Donate to a high PR website
Some non commercial website or an open source software website use the donation for their site maintenance. This website usually will have a donation page where they will list out their donater website. This kinda website usually have a high PR and usually the donation page PR is around PR6 and PR7. You can donate as cheap as $5 in order to get your website listed there. The website where you can try is:

Get a service from designer
The second method is from the designer website. There is a few designer website with a high PR and they have the portfolio page where they will list their work. Of course it will cost a lot of money if you ask them to design your website in order to get it listed on the high PR portfolio page. To overcome this problem instead of asking them to design a website you can ask them to do a cheap service such as logo design. To play safe here you can ask the designer first whether they will list your website on their portfolio page or not if you ask them to design a logo. So here the list of high PR portfolio page.

If you have the order method of just find out another high PR of donation page or portfolio page please share with us. Good luck!
